I suck

I'm having problems with a few friends, I guess I'm not as great a friend as I once thought and people are choosing not to spend time with me.

Today I lost my job.

I suck, I'm depressed, things aren't going well.

Oh yea, I'm back up to 286. I suck.

  4. I agree with the girls Colleen. You are not the sum total of your weight...and if you really believe there is something about you (as a friend) that you need to change, then change that thing...you do not suck b/c of the opinion of one or two people!!!!!! Hang in there. If you suck then I doubly suck. I've gained back all plus...oy. It's a struggle to be sure, but like Kristen said you are still down 20 lbs!

  5. What?! I would LOVE to have lost 20 pounds.

And what job are you talking about? Do you mean the babysitting?

Why are your friends not talking to you?

  6. I guess I meant to say: are you sure they are not talking to you for a specific reason? Have they said something or did you confront them? And, this is the hard part, is there any validity to their complaints?

  7. Thanks everyone, I feel much better about it all today. Jules, the friend issue is complicated. Earlier in the week some of my new preschool mommy friends had a huge playdate and wrote about it all over fcebook and I was invited. The person hosting has since apologized profusely and swears it was just an oversight/mistake. The other friend issue is just a friend I've been friends with since high school. We haven't been out without kids to do something in a while and I keep inviting her to do stuff and she either ignores the invote or comes up with a reason not to go. I offered to change my plans to go somewhere to another night so she could go b/c she seemed interested but was told she couldn't do it b/c there were too many good shows on tv that night. The job was the babysitting job, not a huge loss, but compiled with everything else it hurt. No one has outright said I was a bad friend it just felt like that was the msg I was getting. Yes I was being dramatic but I was feeling hurt, you know? I ave since booked a flight to go viit my very best friend who I haven't seen in a few years and am excited to spend time with her.

  8. Yay Colleen!!!! Way to pick yourself up. :) I'm so glad you are feeling better. It does hurt to be an "oversight" no matter who you are and what your struggles are or aren't.

  9. Glad you are feeling better about things...I certainly don't think any of these people view you as a "bad friend" -- but understand that in the moment you felt that way. Maybe they are the bad friends???

What happened with the babysitting job?

    Hang in there!

  10. I agree...with everything you have just explained, it seems like they are the bad friends. Don't take other's shortcomings and view it as a fault of your own!

And, the babysitting job isn't a reflection of you! Maybe she found someone cheaper? In this day and age, a penny saved counts for much!

Way to pick yourself up. :)
