Counting....

Yup, only 18 more days until my appointment with the surgeon. Can you believe it? I'm so excited nervous that I can't stand it. I'm not sure what to expect. I know it's a chance for me to ask questions but I honestly don't have any. I've done so much research I just can't think of anything to ask. From what I hear if all goes well at this appointment and with my insurance approval they will schedule surgery for 4-6 weeks later. That's nothing!

My Butt Hurts

Well it's not quite my butt, have you ridden a bike lately? Ouch. It's a good thing though, it's exercise and man do I need it. Yesterday I started walking in the mornings again and then last night when all I really wanted to do was sit on the couch and snack I hopped on my bike. I can only muster about 20-30 minutes of riding, without major hills, but it's a start. I hope to get back out there again tonight. I do feel a little self conscious-hey look at the lard ass on the bike- but I keep saying to myself "you could be on the couch eating chips, at least you are DOING something about it." That helps, some. Let's also hope that it helps the scale ;)

I really don't have much else to say. My life has really come together and I am happy :) I have great friends, my kids have friends, I get to go out, they get to go out, I'm managing the home well, things are just moving right along and most of the time I have a smile on my face. I'm getting out and living my life and am excited to enter the next phase of my life with the lap band. I can't wait to do more and more as the weight comes off. It's an exciting time.

25 Days

I have twenty five days, including today, to get to the goal weight set for me by the Bariatric Surgery Center. So....hmmm....let's do some math. I am up 3 pounds since the great Texas eating vacation of 2009 which puts me back at 286 (naked). My goal is 283. It sounds like a measly 3 pounds but since, THANKFULLY, they do not weigh you naked I need to account for 2-3 pounds of clothing + lucky me will be ovulating right around then and retaining some lovely water weight. Roughly, I have about 9 pounds to lose and because rounding is fun, let's say 10. 10 pounds in 25 days?? That is .4 pounds a day. Time to get serious.

USAir rocks!

Thank you US Airways! Your seats were roomy, far more than that other airline and the seat belt fit without an extender, in fact, I had room to spare. Thank you for making me feel like I belonged on that plane and not like I was trying to squeeze into Barbies corvette.

On a side note; 4 days of vacation yummy Mexican food and margaritas has left me higher on the scale than I am comfortable with. Some, if not most, is water weight, I'm more bloated than a Macy's day parade balloon. Ouch.

Planes Are Designed for Barbie

Yesterday, a week since my last post I got back n the scale and it still said 283. Phew. Last Saturday I hit 281.8 but bounced back up. I'm OK with that, we're still getting some where.

In other news, I'm in San Antonio! I came to visit a friend and am hoping to have some good fun this weekend. Flying to San Antonio meant sitting in a plane seat? Any larger people (the airline will call you customer of size) done that lately? Wow. I was soooooo nervous about whether or not I would fit into the plane seat or if I'd be asked to buy a second seat. Then I was nervous about the seat belt and needing an extender. Other people didn't get it and thought nothing of me needing to ask for one. It's just embarrassing to me. "Hey, hello there, flight attendant.....I've managed to cram my fat ass into this seat made for Barbie over here but this 3 inch long seat belt just ain't going to cut it....perhaps Barbie could use it as a thong." So, I did manage to fit into one seat, some more comfortably than others. I did, also, need a seat belt extender. (Insert panic here) I needed about another 2 inches of belt, 2 measly inches. Sigh...... It wasn't the most horrible thing ever to ask for one but still embarrassing and I did try to hide it from fellow travelers. I am not proud of my size and it was just another little reminder that I am not like most other people.
